Need help from web designers on online filmstrip thumbnail gallery?

I’m creating online photo page. Imagine a simple page with a preview panel on the top and few thumbnails in the bottom (sort of like a filmstrip option in windows XP). What is the way in html or java script to make it so that when I click on a thumbnail the image will open in the preview panel? (in the same page, not in separate window). Thanks!

I have an HTML page that I wrote to help someone here at yahoo answers a while back – if you email me your question at your_taurean@yahoo.com, I can send you that html – all you will have to do is to add in more table columns for creating a lengthy filmstrip and obviously, some tweaking with the code to make it run with your images.
