Comcast Insall Wizard, Did it change any system settings?
My father recently signed up for comcast highspeed. We got hom new Vista Home Edition O/S. We downloaded their install software (which continued to lock up mid-install). The final result is that router looks great, and even the laptop says he is connected with local and internet. But he gets 403 Forbidden on every page.
It gets interesting because I attempted to install the software on my Vista laptop, while I was there with no Joy either. I get home on my network and my picasa login doesn’t work any more to upload to web album, pownce login, and IE returns 403 errors. Firefox works fine, and skype etc.. on my network.
Any ideas on what might have been changed system wide to affect these programs?

Thank you for responding, but the damage has been done. Looking for a solution to fix it.
If this was for a router, you di not need to install any software. Uninstall everything that installed. In Internet Explorer tools/internet options check that the connection is set to never dial a connection. In the lan section check that ALL the buttons are turned off.
