How can I have multiple photos as my desktop background?

I have about 10 photos or so, I need free software I can download that will allow me to have all, or most of my photos on my desktop background as a kind of montage or gallery. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Try using paint or photoshop to put them together and then saving them as one picture and adding them as the desktop.
